what you ask.

Ten questions that come up often. Click to open an answer. If yours isn't here, write to us — we read everything.

How do I book a session?

Easiest way: the form on the home page. We'll come back to you within 24–48h to lock the details. You can also write directly to info@botanicstudio.ch or DM @botanicstudiolausanne.

How much does a session cost?

Recording is CHF 60.- per hour. Composition, production and mixing are quoted — we adapt to the format (single, EP, album) and the complexity. Full details on the Services page.

What is your cancellation policy?

A session cancelled less than 24 hours before the start is charged in full. Beyond 24 hours, no charge. We understand life happens — a serious emergency can always be discussed, but the studio is held for you and the slot stays reserved.

What should I bring on the day?

Your instruments, sonic references (Spotify playlist, files of tracks that inspire you), your lyrics or charts if you sing or play written music, and whatever you need to settle in. We have everything else — mics, preamps, recording chain. Cables, stands, headphones are on us.

How long does a mix take?

Allow 1 to 3 days per track depending on density, plus a feedback session for adjustments. We deliver a v1 mix, listen together (or remotely via a link), you flag what feels off, we make a v2. A third revision is included if needed.

Do we keep our stems and multitracks?

Yes, always. On delivery of the mix, you leave with the final master, the stems (instrument groups), and on request the full session multitracks. It's your work — you own it.

Can we visit before booking?

Of course. A 30-minute visit, no commitment, to see the studio, hear a few tracks that came out of it, and talk through your project. Set up an appointment via the form — we'll match it to our availability.

What styles do you work with?

We record and produce every style — pop, rap, soul, chanson, indie, electronic, chamber classical. The analog grain and neutral monitoring work everywhere. If we've never touched your world, we'll say so upfront; but generally what changes is the colour of the mix, not the quality of the work.

Can we record as a group or live?

Yes. Two booths + a live room let us track a group simultaneously with clean separation between takes. For larger setups (sextet, ensembles), we discuss in advance — plan a bit more setup time.

How does payment work?

A 30% deposit is requested when the booking is confirmed, the balance on delivery of the master. Payment by bank transfer (Swiss IBAN) or Twint. An invoice is issued at each step. For longer projects (albums), we can split into milestones.
